New in the SumatraPDF [pre-release builds](https://www.sumatrapdfreader.org/prerelease):

## Overlay scrollbar

A new optional overlay scrollbar floats over the document. It shows as a thin bar when you move the mouse, gets thicker on hover and hides on its own, so the document can use the full window width. You can drag it, click the track, and hold the mouse down to scroll repeatedly. Turn it on by setting the `Scrollbars` advanced setting to `smart`, or with the `Change Scrollbar` command (`CmdChangeScrollbar`).

![With Scrollbars = smart, moving the mouse shows a thin bar at the right edge; hovering it makes it a thick scrollbar with arrows, the thumb is dragged down, a click on the track pages down, holding the mouse on the track keeps scrolling to the end, and the bar hides once the mouse stops](https://youtu.be/AdvErc7hsJs)

## Scrollable home page thumbnails

The recently opened documents thumbnails on the home page scroll, so you can see more than one screen of them.

![The home page with 42 recently opened documents: the mouse wheel scrolls the thumbnails down to the last row (Map reading ... Tide pools) while the search box and header stay put, then back up to the first row](https://youtu.be/A4kFHNt7QZ8)

## Snap layouts on Windows 11

Hovering the maximize button shows the Windows 11 snap layouts menu.
