New in the SumatraPDF [pre-release builds](https://www.sumatrapdfreader.org/prerelease):

## New find bar and floating find window

The old find box on the toolbar is gone. The toolbar now has a single search button, and it or `Ctrl + F` opens a compact, Chrome-style find bar with a search box, an "n / m" match counter, previous/next buttons, a Match Case toggle and a close button. A pin button turns the bar into a floating window you can move and resize. That window lists every match with a highlighted text snippet and its page number. Click a result, or use the arrow keys, to jump to it. Your choice of bar or window is remembered (`SearchUIFloating`, `SearchUIWindowPos`) ([#4092](https://github.com/sumatrapdfreader/sumatrapdf/issues/4092)). The tooltips show keyboard shortcuts, and Sumatra no longer beeps when a search wraps around the document.

## Read Aloud playback bar, Stop and auto-scroll

While Read Aloud is speaking, a playback bar on the page shows the document name, the current page and what is being read, with Pause and Stop buttons. **Stop Reading** (`CmdStopReadAloud`) is also in the Read Aloud menus. The view scrolls to follow the spoken word. It stops following if you scroll away. Read Aloud is also on the page's right-click menu, where **Start Reading From Cursor Position** starts at the word you clicked. Voices are in a **Voice** submenu, and the chosen voice is remembered in the `ReadAloudVoiceId` setting.

![Right-click on a sentence > Read Aloud > Start Reading From Cursor Position: a playback bar at the bottom of the page shows Pause, Stop, the speed and "Reading · Beekeeping.pdf · page 1 of 1 · From cursor"; the view scrolls down as the reading moves past the bottom of the window; Pause turns into Resume, Resume continues and Stop ends the reading](https://youtu.be/UdFviZ4OE10)

## SyncTeX with LaTeX compiled in WSL

Forward and inverse search now work for documents compiled inside WSL (Windows Subsystem for Linux). This covers files on the WSL file system (`\\wsl.localhost\...`) and files on a Windows drive compiled from WSL (`/mnt/c/...`) ([#5702](https://github.com/sumatrapdfreader/sumatrapdf/issues/5702)).
